Coolest contrarian idea

That I ran into this month

The Cochran-Ewald theory of disease:  Genes/environments as causes for disease are mostly misguided.  Disease is caused (basically) by germs, else it would be selected against.  (HT: Steve Sailer and Isegoria)

It's not that contrarian a view.

Consider stomach ulcers, remember when those were caused by stress, instead of an infection?

Yes...I remember that, but there's an awful lot of new stuff on "genetic causes". This is a response to those ideas.
