Will Washington's Failures Lead To Second American Revolution? It sure looks like the divisiveness of the Bush presidency was Chump Change. Were I a real voice in the libertarian movement, I'd suggest a massive shift in focus to this direction:
Class war -- It's the politically connected against the rest of us.

How would one go about getting in the politically connected class?
This is not just idle speculation; it's important for us to have a grasp of what exactly this class is, besides "the enemy." After all, if there is relatively free entry to the political class, their rents should become competed away. If not, well, changing the system of promotion is a powerful feedback lever. Easy entry, diluting out the political class, would be almost as good as eliminating it.
My brother joined the politically powerful class. He's one of the guys who are actually drafting the legislation on financial rules and laws for the politicians to vote on without reading. That counts I think.
It required:
1. A law degree
2. An MBA
3. Rejecting all the culture he grew up in, and becoming an religion hating, human-population-is-the-greatest-threat-to-the-world spouting, leftwing trendy. (Largely caused by falling for a girl who was already like that, partly by the influence of some truly terrible school teachers.)
4. Getting a job in a government department and working his way up from there.
