Bryan Caplan recently asked the question: are there any technologies that were good immediately? Or are all known technologies gradually accumulative in value, and only gain value through an accumulation of technologies used together? Consensus of the commenters: there might be some, but effectively all valuable technologies are aggregations, not individual starts.
Quick question: If that is true, then under what circumstances would IP law be sane?
