I have several rather substantial objections to that line of reasoning, some applying to me, and some applying more generally.
- I am personally in a mixed-race marriage, with mixed race kids. Any race based crap from any direction will (and DOES) attempt to exclude more than 50% of my family. Either my wife and kids, or me and my kids. Blacks do it, Whites do it, Latino racists and Asian racists as well.
- My young adulthood 18-30 was spent near the Randian positions. Rand: "Racism is the lowest and most crudely primitive form of collectivism." Anyone who cares substantially about race in their personal interactions qualifies as a knuckle-dragging mouth breather, and is deserving only of contempt (for those positions). Every time we go near Chicago (as we are for this coming month), we are reminded of this. All sides of the race divide...Japanese, Indian, hispanic, black, white.
- I personally don't fit well into any group...never have, and never expect to. If I belong to a group, it's as an outsider/visitor/internal dissenter. Mostly, I have found that when people join for collective action, they get MUCH MUCH stupider.
- Jehu's argument: join up or get run over sounds persuasive...except it is precisely that argument that most libertarians/all anarchists have already rejected in the political space. If the collective action of political force is itself evil (as I hold it to be)...attempting to excercising that political force is also evil. So I hold voting to be (venally) evil action...attempting to seize control of the body politic with which to coerce others. Race politicking is the same game. If race based action is itself evil, then the incitement..."be evil or else get screwed over by other folks being evil" is singularly unimpressive to the anarchist/anti-collectivist.
