My family went to a spread put up by a neighbor, where the conversation was led by a couple of multimillionaires, whose home it was (magnificent home at that) discussing how there are so many people now, our only hope is a turn to socialism, and how personal freedom is so last century. I limited my comments to discussing the wine and the food.
That proves your second point - it's hippies, all the way down.
