Opposition to Great Injustices

Shiska Dalmia (libertarian, obviously agreeing with me) put out a paper on open borders HT: Vipul Naik.  The numbers are interesting.

And WTF?  Bill Clinton and some other heavies in the political sphere oppose the drug war?  WTF?  I never (never, never, never) thought I'd see that happen.

Wonder if he'll be kicked out like Derek Khanna, another hero for liberty, sacrificed by the stupid party.

And apparently the New Yorker and NYT, both branches of the Democratic party, are going to start pressuring the president on closing down his foreign wars.

3 of the biggest anti-liberty points in the modern world, and one massive anti-growth thing.  Any motion on any of these fronts would be among the greatest pro-liberty moves of any world leader in my lifetime.

Given that your lifetime includes China going from Mao to now, that's a big claim.

Good call Dr. Pat.

Among, and by a world-leader. Mao dying is a regime-change.

I would classify Deng XiaoPing's rule as "the actions of a world leader".

Now that I think about it, Mr Gorbachev has a claim too.

I think that the USA starts behind the 8-ball here. When you are STARTING with your "liberty" score is 10/100* (USSR, PRC), then the level of improvement you can pull off is much larger than when you start at 70/100 (USA).

Then China gets to multiply everything by 4 or so, because of the population.

*Numbers pulled out of the air, but not unreasonable I think. Well, 1985 USSR was a nicer place than 1977 China so it probably should get 20/100 or so.

I learned from the Dalmia piece that immigration restrictionists are Malthusians who side with Marx. So that's pretty compelling.

No mention of crime or anti-cartoon rioting as seen in Europe: surprise! Can't happen here!

People are apparently interchangeable, which is why it's very important to import ANYONE to make up for the Western baby-making deficit.
